Noel Leonard is one of a long line of his family to be born and
red in Dunboyne going back at least six generations. Dunboyne, Clonee and Kilclone have always been central to his life and he watches with pride as his beloved locaility adapts and evolves to meet the challenges of modern times. He has a hearty welcome for all newcomers to our community and he believes in sustainable local development to cater for their needs and a better quality of life for all.
Forever conscious of our heritage Noel has always placed himself on the front line to defend our rights and protect our traditions. In 1996 he first raised the idea of re-opening railway line when he and an interested party walked the line and made representations to former Transport Minister Mary O'Rourke.
• Continuing honest hardwork and accountable representation to our area for the good of the community at large.
• Developing the sports facilities which are currently in place. He will continue to lobby for the Dunshaughlin area swimming pool to be placed at Fairyhouse making it accessible for Dunboyne, Kilbride and Kilclone. Some money has been ring fenced for this project.
• Prioritising a Youth Facility development for Dunboyne teenagers which is urgently needed.
• Continuing his commitment to social, affording and local needs housing for Dunboyne, Kilbride and Kilclone.
• Continuing Noel's commitment to further develop Dunboyneʼs educational facilities. Noel has identified a site for a hird level school at Clonee.
• Continuing to monitor the Dunboyne relief road project to its conclusion.
• Continuing to work with the Meath County Council to restore the quality of rural roads to an acceptable standard.
• Continuing to work with the Minister for Justice to have extra gardai allocated to Dunboyne Garda station.
• Providing for the elderly with greater security, social support and safer pedestrian walkways.
• Working with the local authorities to ensure sustainable development to meet the social-economic needs of Dunboyne, Kilbride and Kilclone.
